What is UV Bonded Glass?
When ever someone asks this question the answer is “just think invisible glass joins”.
UV bonded glass is when we join two glass faces together with an adhesive that’s stronger than the glass itself. It eliminates the need for unsightly or unwanted fixings. Glass no longer has to be clamped or siliconed together. No matter what the application is, we have a UV glue to suit!
All glass shower enclosures, display showcases and glass shelves can be bonded together to create a minimalistic stunning glass creation.
It doesn’t have to stop at glass, most combinations of materials can be invisibly bonded together and include, glass to glass, glass to stone, glass to plastics & glass to metals. Once we have cured the adhesive the joint is even stronger than the glass itself so you can be sure the invisible joint will never fail. We have structural adhesives and waterproof adhesives too, so the possible design opportunities are endless.
Gordon Ramsay’s most recent restaurant, Petrus in Knightsbridge London, required a floating glass wine store to house 1540 bottles of expensive wine, we designed and installed the centerpiece of the flagship restaurant using high tech structural glass and an acrylic UV bonded glue. It’s been creating a buzz ever since!
